Homemade Lemonade

 6 lemons

1 cup sugar


Using a vegetable peeler. Gently peel the rinds off the lemons.  Combine rinds in a bowl with sugar.  Mix and rest for 2 hours or overnight.

Boil 4 cups water and stir into lemon/sugar mixture. Stir into the water to mix. Separate the juice from the rinds in a colondar by straining the lemon peels out from the warmed water. 

Squeeze the lemons getting at least 3/4 cup of juice. 

Add 1 cup ice to strained lemon and the squeezed juice.  Chill for 2 hours and serve with ice.
